Light-toned burled hardwood wrapping calm turquoise water, recreating Crystal Cave, Bermuda - the wood grain reading as limestone walls above still, clear water. Wide horizontal format.
Each piece is built by hand from exotic hardwoods and pigmented epoxy - the grain of the wood forming the land, the resin holding the water. No two pieces can ever be repeated.

The Cave on Norman Island, BVI’s
Dark, richly figured ancient redwood - the wood itself over 1,000 years old - framing deep turquoise water, with a white lacy wave breaking across the cove. Signed. Vertical format.

The Icelandic Coast
Pale burl wood as a rugged coastline against soft blue-green water, with a wave breaking along the shore. Tall vertical format, suited to narrow walls and columns.

About the Work
Jonathan Greenberg is an artist based in Nosara, Costa Rica. Working with exotic Costa Rican hardwoods and pigmented epoxy, he builds one-of-a-kind pieces that recreate coastlines from Costa Rica and around the world - the grain of the wood forming the land, the resin holding the water.
The goal of each piece is simple: to bring back the feeling of standing on the Costa Rican coast. Collectors and designers choose the work because it carries that memory of place, and because no two pieces can ever be repeated.
Site-specific commissions are welcome - built to your dimensions, palette, and the coastline your project calls for. Studio visits are welcome by appointment.
